was perusing this w/nothing better to do ... all trades should be made on need first but even ESPN's fantasy trade info is useful for value sometimes ... this was hilarious:

TRADING POST
Derrek Lee, ChC, 1B
One curious deal saw Lee traded straight up for Eric Chavez. I like Chavez and I think he'll pick it up, but he's no match for Lee's overall game. Somebody got fleeced.

Ummm - no sh@#t

Ben Sheets, Mil, SP
Separate deals netted Alfonso Soriano, Ramon Hernandez and Guillermo Mota.

Yeah - those are equitable players ...

Roger Clemens, Hou, SP
What you're getting: Straight up deals have seen Clemens moved for Mike Sweeney, Chris Carpenter, Joe Nathan and Dontrelle Willis.

Chris Carpenter???

Classic useless info ...

I like these Yahoo things, it shows how pathetic some people are.

My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

First of all, this is hardly useless info. I think that column provides a GREAT way to take the pulse of the fantasy world as a whole... I would never have thought to go after Sheets with some of those guys, but having seen that, I might start throwing some flyer offers out there.

And frankly, if I had the Rocket, I would trade him for Carpenter today with no questions asked (but I drafted Carpenter several rounds later than Clemens in several leagues and got exactly what I expected- a steal.) The guy is consistently good- something you can't say for most pitchers, and a trait that makes him extremely valuable in H2H leagues.

Agreed, I check for bad trades all the time to see what kind of extra value I can get off of guys I want to get rid of.

It helps know how LOW to buy on a buy low and how HIGH to sell on a sell high.

Lots of value there. But agreed, there are alot of bad trades made every day.

Where exactly on Yahoo can you view these trades? I am in a Yahoo league and have never seen this option. Any help is appreciated?

In the fantasy baseball section there are sometimes articles on this. ESPN.com has a fantasy section where you can type in a name of aplayer and see all trades done within like 4 weeks that included that player.

Type in the users name and search here:

http://games.espn.go.com/cgi/flb/reques ... aram0=6161

Then click on the player card,
Then click trades recently accepted.

It will give an output like below.

http://games.espn.go.com/cgi/flb/reques ... rIDTo=6161

You can sort by 1 for 1 trades, uneven grouped trades, and even grouped trades

the site itself is kind of busy, but its got some good info expecially when researching buy low / sell highs
