Im in a league with 13 pitching cats, alot of them are just plain ridiculous... and many conflict with one another..... ex: winning IP cat increases your likelihood that you will lose Hits catergory even if you have a better WHIP then your opponent.
In lew of this, Im thinking of punting several of these cats and just pitching the min # of innings to snag the majority of cats. (going with just a rotation of Pedro, AJ, Bedard, Colon, Mulder) and trading/dropping Penny, Pettite, Pinerio, Harang. g
Does this logical work?
Games Started: Lose (this cat is really beyond your control... depends on who gets more 2 start pitchers)
Inning Pitched: Lose *
Wins Lose *higher likelihood of losing
Lose win *less starts/more quality starts
H Win *if your pitching half the innings you can have double the whip and still win
HR win *better starts/ less innings pitched
SB win *better starts/ less innings pitched
ER win *better starts/ less innings pitched
ERA toss up *better starts/ less innings pitched
WHIP toss up *higher probability of winning due to better starts
sv uneffected by the strategy
svop uneffected by the strategy
5 locks win( L, H, HR, SB, ER)
2 higher probably of winning (ERA, Whip)
2 it doesn't matter what strategy you use (sv, svop)
4 locks to lose (GS, IP, K, W??)

Are you in my league by chance?
I believe there is a spy lurking from it in here somewhere....... every convo I started about pick up deep league FA seemed to have gotten back to the league because they were all grabbed by the time I got home from work

Ya I had no idea what I was getting into with this one. I autodrafted and was gonna just ride out the season, but all my other teams are in 1st, don't need to be tinkered with, and Im itching to make it 4 for 4 this year
Our league has two more negative pitching cats than positive. So in theory you could punt and come out ahead. In the future I will ensure that the positive and negative stats are equal, keeping "punting" from happening in the future. We have a guy that never checks his lineup, in fact he decided to quit playing and he is comfortably in second place mainly because he is leading all the negative cats.
So in theory your thought should work, rather boring and not very competive, but if your playing for $$ who cares what is kosher.
