We should call him P.U. (perennial underperformer) cause he stinks!

Bunts don't count ... :-b

No. I've never seen him take the ball the other way. Not even slice one over the shortstops head. Patterson's swing is not advantageous to hitting the other way. He has a long swing and terrible patience at the plate. Watching him play you can see the talent in his game, but he has been steadfast in not changing his approach at the plate. Management has long attempted to evolve his game with a more speed-based approach, but he envisions himself as a 3-hitter and nothing else. At some point, he will have to listen otherwise he's destined for mediocrity.

i'd say he's well-entrenched, 15% chance of clawing his way out.

honestly, Patterson's only fantasy value right now is that he swings for the fences on every at bat. In the year of the whoops-I'm-not-on-roids-where-did-all-the-home-runs-go, 10 home runs at this point is an every day starter in a competitive 12 team roto league. Sure, you wish those RBI numbers were higher, but then again, the Cubs have been pretty average so far.

RBIs are low b/c he only hits solo HRs. For perspective 60% of his ABs are with bases empty. Best BA is with bases empty. So useless.
