I've got a question, why do they want to trade Wagner? The guy is 22 years old and he's going to be a future closer! Why not let the kid develop?? But anywho, Dunn will be another Bellhorn to the Sox if they bring him in, and instead of seeing K or double like they do with Bellhorn (more like 14 K's to every double), we'll see K or HR with Dunn. I would try to get either a Sean Casey who's an OBP machine or Huff and offer Shoppach.
Thanks chipper!!!!
There is such a thing called clutch and David Ortiz is the modern day definition of it

you haven't looked at dunn's numbers. he has more runs than rbi. he's a BB machine, a .410 on-base percentage. fits perfectly into the moneyball mode, which is paramount to red sox new approach.
I think both you (Ben, and Trot) are both agreeing. Dunn and bellhorn are very similar in their aproach, Dunn is just a much better hitter (with considerably more power). Bellhorn both walks and strikesout a ton. I think last year he lead the majors in pitches taken with 2 strikes
Anyone ever thought of Dunn to the Dodgers? He seems like a perfect DePodesta kind of guy -- a power hitter with a great OBP. The Dodgers need a 1B (Choi isn't ready yet). The Dodgers have money and quality pitching prospects to throw the Reds way.
Anybody else see this happening?

....good thought, B-boy..the dodgers do have a lot of quality prospects perhaps a cbillingsley and jloney package would be a good start of negotiations
I've been hoping the sox will target Overbay. Brewers have Fielder in their system, (granted, he's probably not quite ready yet,) and the Sox need a first baseman. Overbay would be a run producing machine in that lineup and in that ballpark. Sox could offer Shoppach and another lesser prospect.
