I'm in a league that allows up to 23 active players. A player at every position plus 1 add. catcher, 1 add. OF, 1 DH, 1 Utility, 1 MI, 1 CI, up to 8 active pitchers. NL and AL players allowed. This is my first time in a Fanatsy League so I'm a little green.

How many teams are in this league? Your roster looks decent, but you're a bit lacking in impact players... That's fine in a deep league, but if there aren't that many teams playing, you'll probably find yourself struggling.

Thank you for your response. It's a 10 team league. What area should I work on? Better pitching, hitting?

Tough call. I think the problem is that you have quite a few players in the John Olerud mold. Olerud will give you a nice average, he'll score some runs and earn you some rbi's, but since most other teams will have a better starting 1b, he'll leave you at a disadvantage. If you can plug those holes, you'll be able to compete.

Some of those holes might not be that hard to fill. For instance, you might be able to upgrade your relievers by picking up players such as Kim or grabbing the next Brendan Donnelly off the wire. Improving 1b might be a bit trickier, but you might be able to swing a deal for, say, Nick Johnson, whose owner might not want to wait for him to return to the lineup. You might also consider shopping players like Cruz, whose value is currently high, just to see what offers might come your way.
