ARod Triple Crown?

Postby AT » Tue May 31, 2005 8:26 am

4th in AL in BA .330 (BRob @ .370)
- *Ichiro is hitting .317

1st in AL in HR w/17 (Soriano @ 14)

1st in AL in RBI w/49 (Tejada @ 45)

I'm not saying it's going to happen, but does anyone really see Brian Roberts, Johnny Damon, or Carlos Guillen winning the batting title?

If not, then tell me he won't lead the league in homers and be neck and neck with Tejada for the RBI title.

No, but that doesn't mean that Ichiro or another player won't win it. In fact, I'm sure that Arod won't win it.

The way he's going, he'll probably lead the league in homeruns, but I still wouldn't count out Manny and Vlad--all it takes is a hot streak like Arod just had to catch up.

Arod's chance at the RBI title depends on if he's move up a little bit. Why isn't he batting fourth with the tear he's on?
I'm back. Sorta.

Do not boo Johnny.

Joe alternates his righty and lefty bats religiously and I think he buys into this Japanese position of honor bullcrap so Matsui is batting 4th meanwhile he has less power than John Flaherty at this point.

I wouldn't be the least surprised to see Ichiro have one of those .400+ second halfs and win the batting title, but I'd be a little surprised to see Vlad recover enough to take the RBI title. Manny wouldn't surprise me one bit. All I'm saying is, there's a chance and I hope he has a shot at it in August because it would be a great story to follow compared to all the negative crap plaguing baseball recently.

I think he has an outside shot . He will need a couple of things to go his way.

Ichiro hit .429 in the second half last year. That's just sick.

Frank Robinson won the triple crown with a .316 BA. It's not impossible.

I'm an AROD hater though, so go Ichrio!!!!

No, but does anyone see A-Rods AVG staying at .330 for the rest of the year?

I still think it is way too early to be thinking about it.
He is 4th in BA and has a slim lead in HR and RBI.
I'll be happy to bring it back up in late July.
