Worst offseason move...as of now.

Has to be the signing of Russ Ortiz by the Diamondbacks. All their other offseason moves have worked to perfection; Halsey and Vazquez have been nothing short of excellent and Troy Glaus has been the anchor of the lineup. That said, Russ Ortiz has been complete :-t . He walks more batters than anyone I can remember and that never equates success. If they had invested their money in a few good relievers they'd probably be leading the NL West (though my Pads look real good lately).

I would have nominated Beltre, but he at least warranted big money after the year he had in 2004.

Aaron Boone. He would be overpaid if he was paying the Indians.

My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.

What about Beltre? Cashed in on one great year. Still some hope he'll turn it around and earn that contract.

I love it when people take pitchers form the Braves and then that pitcher flops. When will people learn it isnt always the pitcher alot has to do with Leo. ;-D

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

To be fair (and God I HATE to do this since it's a Yankee), Wright has been on the shelf for a little while so it's hard to say what he would have or wouldn't have done.

1. Braves giving a top pitching prospect for Kolb. :-t (That just stands out because its close to home)

2. E.Milton getting 25million by the Reds. The guy gave up the most HR last year.. they thought moving him to that launching pad would help???? HA!

3. As mentioned Beltre. I've heard that it's maybe due to a change in NL to AL. I don't buy it. He hasn't put up those kind of numbers in multiple years thus he shouldn't be given that fat of a contract.

the beltre signing made sense. the kid had always had the talent to do well, and last year he changed his hitting approach and you aw the results.

it's anyone's guess why he's changed it back to his old way of hittting (although i'm pretty sure TheYanks04 has a theory.... ;-7 ) and i'm willing to cut him a little slack because of the league change. i think he's a great buy-low candidtate right now, but i also think it's realistic that if he'll never come close to what he did last year, which would be very bad for both the marainers and my 14 team cafe keeper league, in which i took him 9th overall. >_<
