Every relevant pitching predictor stat and statistical geekdom rating has this guy with the best in the game right now inn per inn. What is his role with the Cubs, how does he look live? (I've never seen him pitch) Is he going to start soon? I'm dying to get some more info on this guy...

throws mid 90s w/a nice change up..control has always been his problem..i thought he should have been given a chance on the cubs closing carousel but at that time he was in the minors stretching out as a SP w/mixed success..he struck out 30 in 24 IP w/cubs in 04..he is only 26 so he has time to improve..kinda interesting name for any deep NL only leagues

had trouble earlier this year, but came back like gangbusters after a brief AAA stint. Currently a long MR, but could be thrown in as a spot SP and could be pushed in that direction permanently over time depending on how he works out.

I would doubt it would be wellemeyer b/c he threw the 7th and 2/3 of the 8th. 7th was perfect but when he came out for the 8th he walked the first 2 guys on eight pitches. He then got a double play and was lifted.

So as stated earlier power pitch with control problems.

I definately don't think he'll be starting.

Leicester had a spot start earlier in the year but he got lit up in 3 innings. I thought they would give him a second chance but cubs.com says they're bringing up some kid named John Koronka who's got a 5 Era at triple A.
