It's not that he hasnt been great this year, he's already been waay above anyone's expectations....but it seems as is he's hit a wall lately. Is anyone else worried about his recent lack of hitting?
This field, this game, it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh people will come Ray, people will most definitely come.

If he doesn't pick it up on this homestand then I would start to worry
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. -Crash Davis

nah, he's a proven stud
I think the question should be "who's surprised by Barmes' recent hitting woes?"

i believe his home and away splits are .400 and .260 respectively.
if he doesn't hit in the upcoming string of homegames, then worry.

I sold him high...I think he will finish with respectable numbers....but a pretty substantial correction is needed to bring him down to .290-.300....the guy seems to rake doubles at will...

There's nothing wrong with him other than he has been on a road trip and facing mostly right handers. His splits are overwhelming at home and against lefties which leads to a couple conclusions/options. Play him all the time and save a roster spot and live with solid numbers at your 2B/SS position or find someone suitable in Free Agency to play when Barmes faces righties on the road. I think you'll have better production with the latter but it's not to say he won't put up nice numbers placing him at the top third of his position if you play him every day because I think he will.
