Help with lyrics...

Postby davidmarver » Sun May 29, 2005 11:52 pm

Alright, my band recently won the Battle of the Bands at my school (by a considerable margin I might add). Anyway, we've been asked to perform one song at graduation. We have a song we want to play; it's a soft one, sorta like Time of Your Life by Green Day. However, we are lost as to what the lyrics should be. Here's what we have so far, but we need major help. If you have some lines you want to add feel free...edit it, do whatever. We can sing whatever you write, we'll make it flow, so don't worry about that. We just want something with meaning. Thanks.

Here's what we have so far, please help.

Skirmish The Band wrote:Forever onward we trek towards the goals and dreams we set for ourselves.
As time progresses, our lives will alter but the memories remain unchanged.
We’re moving on, but we will never forget what we’ve accomplished.

We each have our own separate stories of how we reached this day,
Different beginnings, a different plot, yet we share the same ending.

As we graduate today, we’ve reached our first checkpoint; may there be many more to come.
From this day forth, we embark on a journey known as life.
What happens in the ensuing years is the result of what we’ve learned here.

Ya know...if you get over the fact that it's Vanilla Ice, it's actually a pretty catchy tune.

Amen. ;-D

Same can be said for MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This" - sure it was catchy, but Rick James' Super Freak was so much better.

Thats rough Mookie.....I just copy out of an old poetry book. I once used the lyrics to Phill Collins Grovy kinda of Love, in a note to a girl. Good stuff!!!
