What to do with someone who is ruining a money league?

I don't think you can boot him from the league; if anything freeze his ability to post on the message board. In the meantime, I think you should post who it is, so we know who not to have in our leagues in the future. That'd probably get him to shape up the most anyway.

Exactly. If you post his member name here at the Cafe, I can almost guarantee you that his actions will cease.

i agree with both parts of that. you cant boot a guy who payed money, but locking his posting ability is a sensible option. also, posting his member name should get him to stop

OK. This guy continue's even after I warned him that I would post his username if he didn't stop.

I placed an add in the classified forum on this board and a user by the name of "Rohan" responded and was ultimitely chosen to be added to our league. The league has been quite competative for the past several seasons and is mostly friends and co-workers except for a couple of guys to fill in the rest. Last year I added another member of this forum and it was worked out pretty well after a rough spot or two..

However, Rohan is simply a crybaby sore loser who is getting very personal because he doesn't like the trade that I made. Instead of following the process that has been in place for vetos (email the commish who is me and also another one of the veteran managers to maintain checks and balances) he has been on a 2 day bitchfest about how the league is rigged and how I as commish can basically do what ever I want and nobody can prevent me from getting horrible trades in my favor passed. Aside from the fact that another manager would actually have to agree to a trade with me, like I said there is a veto process that requires a simple email and 3 other managers who agree with you and the trade gets vetoed regardless who's involved - including yours truly the apparent tyrannical commish of the league <img src=/forums/images/smiles/kiss.gif> .

He was warned several times so I don't feel guilty about this. If you want a league with an adult sensibility to league matters, keep far far away from Rohan.

I'd be happy to post some of his rants if you want to see just how irrational he is, but hopefully this will send the message.

Thanks for the heads-up ;-D . Managers like that are not wanted.

Just lock his team. Whether it is a pay league or not should not really matter. Joining a pay league does not give him the right to be a worthless human being.

Probably alone on this one, but I'd say next year give up the commish job to someone who can handle it.

Inexperienced commissioners lacking the faculties and make-up to be commissioners ruin leagues too. Nearly every post that starts 'Help, I'm the commish and I don't like how this guy operates' is by a commish who shouldn't be one.

...and no, I am not Rohan.

I still wouldn't lock his team. It is only going to make the situation worse. If you lock it and keep his money, he's going to go ballistic, and that is just bad commishing. If you lock it and give his money back, you are going to lose credibility with your league, as I said earlier.
You are stuck with him. Delete his emails and posts, and leave it at that. Ignore him enough, and he will go away.

Thanks for your input. I've been the commish for 5 years and we have been doing just fine, thanks. I don't see how asking for suggestions on how to handle a problematic owner means that I am not suitable to be commish. :-?
