I believe VMart decided to hit again just as you dropped him. I'd go get him back quickly. And explain how B. Giles is on FA. You'd better get him quickly.
In an 8 teamer, none of those FA really surprise me. Especially if they have a shallow bench.
As for Hafner, he was just waived in my 12 teamer and I'll definitely be keeping an eye on him. I'd stash him if I had room. If he continues to struggles through then next month, then you have to start worrying.
It's tough to gauge how deep the player pool is in a league just by the number of teams. My league, for example, is 9 teams, which would be considered shallow by a number of teams standard, however, we have 5 OF spots, 2 catchers, 3 MI, 3 CI, 6 bench and utility. Therefore, we go 18 deep at catcher and 45 deep at OF (before utility, typically OF or corner). A 12-13 team league with 3 OF spots and 1 catcher, for example, is much shallower than mine. Point is, to determine whether a particular player makes sense as a FA, we would have to know the roster make up for that league.
