anyone see the footage of the LA/ARI game? the LA pitcher threw his glove up like 20 feet high above the mound to stop a ball hit above him. ive watched games for 20 years and never seen anything like it. crazy stuff.

you know, ive always wanted to see some one do that in a mlb game, and i missed it. ive seen in done back in the day in high school practice and what not but on the mlb level that would be hilarious to see. did it stop the ball?

Hahahaha....I just saw it on ESPNEWS. Duaner Sanchez threw his glove probably about 5 feet in the air. It hit the ball, and then went flying towards first. Sanchez skips the ball over to first, but the ump called the play dead and awarded the batter 3rd base.
Obviously you're not allowed to do that without penalty. But, it was pretty dang funny to see someone try it.
Guess it's a good thing the Pirates gave that guy up?
