Antonio Perez revisited

Postby thehat » Sat May 28, 2005 11:30 pm

I saw Perez play here in LV last season, and while he had nice numbers, the usual PCL inflation had to be factored in. Prior to that, he'd been a well regarded prospect by some in the TB organization, and actually wasn't horrible in a 120 AB big league audition a couple years ago.

But when the Dodgers called him up and basically handed him the 3B job, I pretty much dismissed him.

It's only a week or so in, but he just looks like a different player, one that now appears to belong. And while I'm not ready to label him as a star in the making, he's making himself very useful, especially with SS/3B eligibility.
