Geez. I hate pitchers.

Oh and the Cubs I would imagine are not likely to sit a healthy pitcher with Dusty around and the Tribune wanting to fill a few extra seats even if they are out of it in August.

You're all forgetting the important thing. With the Cubs out of the way, the Astros stinking it up, the Reds not much better than the Astros, and the Pirates bing the Pirates, this clears the way for the Milwaukee Brewers to finish 2nd in the NL Central, albeit 35 games behind the Cardinals by season's end.

Just kidding.

I have Prior also. This sucks. When I drafted him, I figured he'd be a risky pick. I had my hopes that he'd pitch about 175 good, solid innings, and anything more would be bonus. But a line drive off the elbow isn't what I thought would bring him down.

As much as we want answers about how long he'll be out, we won't know for a while.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'

Rotoworld is speculating Leicester will be called up to replace him in the rotation, but ESPN.COM is speculating that Dempster might be pulled from the closer role and made to start! SO much for Baker's statement that Ryan will close all year! Anyone else hear this?
"Why don't you just make 10 louder and make 10 be the top number, and make that a little louder"

"These go to 11".
