Oh, I don't doubt that he'll have some hot streaks... and "I'm calmer than you are, dude" but... the fact remains: for those in non-keeper leagues, his cold streak has lasted well over a month and the idea that he'll finish near the top 10 of 1B this year, let alone the top 6, seems a bit far reached. Sure, he's young and he'll get cold. But this is beyond cold...
I couldn't possibly trade him now. I wouldn't get anything in return. I have no choice but to ride it out... Maybe poor pitching from the Royals and DRays will be the cure for his fever, but I'm not holding my breath.
Bottom line: Morneau has found a place on my bench and I'm shopping for a permanent 1B since I doubt that, outside of a couple hot streaks the rest of the year, he'll give me the points I want from that position....
