Morneau is killing me

It's hard to know what to expect from Morneau this year because he's only about a week and a half past his 24th bday. When you have great young players you have to be patient and be willing to bench them when they go through inevitable slumps. Don't trade Morneau, but have someone who can fill in for him when he goes 12 games having a .150 AVG... This board sometimes gets a little too "what have you done for me lately." I know it's somewhat necessary to be agressive and utilize hot players, but stick with the studs.

Geez, I've gone beyond worried about this guy. Morneau has been below even an average fantasy 1B for over a month now. And with Garland still doing well, this trade is biting me in the keister.

Funny how much the cafe hyped him. And everyone thought I was crazy for worrying about him...

i still think you're crazy for worring about him this is his first full season remember. he's bound to be up and down. don't panic and sell him when he's down. i have him on a few teams, i enjoyed the hot and have lived with the cold. i'd put money on it that he'll get hot again.

Oh, I don't doubt that he'll have some hot streaks... and "I'm calmer than you are, dude" but... the fact remains: for those in non-keeper leagues, his cold streak has lasted well over a month and the idea that he'll finish near the top 10 of 1B this year, let alone the top 6, seems a bit far reached. Sure, he's young and he'll get cold. But this is beyond cold...
I couldn't possibly trade him now. I wouldn't get anything in return. I have no choice but to ride it out... Maybe poor pitching from the Royals and DRays will be the cure for his fever, but I'm not holding my breath.
Bottom line: Morneau has found a place on my bench and I'm shopping for a permanent 1B since I doubt that, outside of a couple hot streaks the rest of the year, he'll give me the points I want from that position....
