Beltran on his butt for four more games

May 26 The New York Times' Lee Jenkins reports New York Mets OF Carlos Beltran (quadriceps) is publicly saying he may miss the four-game series against the Florida Marlins May 27-30. "I want to play in Miami, but I've got to be smart," Beltran said. "This is something that will take more time. I feel that if I go try to play, it will get worse."

Good lord. Weird, he came in as a pinch hitter in yesterday's game though

One can only hope the time off is enough to make him 90-100%.

They shouldn't have pinch hit him, they could have put him on the retroactive 15 day DL and brought Diaz up to play instead of Eric Valent.

I have no idea what to do with this guy. I"m in a keeper league, and i don't really want to trade a guy with this much talent, but if he's not running anymore, he's obviously not as valuable as he once was. The Mets might as well DL him so he can join Harden, Escobar, Lyon, and Affeldt on my bench.

I wish they didn't pinch hit him last night so he could have been DLed retroactive to May 21. Clearly he is not ready to play after seeing him last night. We need room to bring up Diaz because the platoon of Woodward/Valent/Anderson isn't going to cut it, especially Valent.
