i dont know if this is reflective of bedards resilience...but even when he threw 7 innings of shutout ball he was throwing threw elbow pain....like the above.....resting him up is so much better then waitin till he blows up then figuring out how to fix it....

Not a Bedard owner but a big Bmore fan.

It's good that he's getting a little break. Remember, Bedard is a veteran of Tommy John Surgery. This break should do him good. One of the biggest knocks on him is that he throws way too many pitches, and he does. Hopefully this helps him last longer into the season.

Also this injury is on his left knee, the one he pushes off of. It would be much worse if it was his right knee that was hurt because that one takes a lot of stress on the follow-through and landing.

It seems like he should come back and pitch fine.

Big Papi's Pimps wrote:You think you guys have a lot of injuries. Check this out:
I have Dotel, Schilling, Matos, and Koskie on my DL already. Harang has the flu, and Burnett has an inflammed elbow. Both will miss their only starts this week. (not to mention I don't have any pitchers that will have 2 starts this week.) Lo Duca has a bruised left elbow. Patterson has a sore wrist from a collision. And now Bedard is out!!!!

THE BASEBALL GODS MUST HATE ME!!!!

thats pretty bad but last year I re-named my team the DL i had-piazza, giambi, m giles, glaus, percival, sosa, R Halladay, maggllio, garret anderson, hoffman, ibanez, nevin, klesko, and delgado. that will never be beat
