Bedard to DL

Is it just me or does it seem like all the players are a lot more fragile this year? I can't seem to recall ever hearing about so many players getting injured so quickly in the season.

LOL

I'm going to do the same for Brett Myers...

At least one of the starts Bedard is going to miss was going to be @ Boston. Hopefully he gets back for @ Pittsburgh, @ Cincinatti, Houston, and Colorado at home.

Wood
Escobar
Patterson
Lyon
Bedard

(Livan, Morris, Myers, Capuano, F Cordero, Urbina, Batista, R Wagner, Dumpster left)

These pitcher injuries are getting ridiculous...

I've got you all beat. On one squad in a 10-team head-to-head:

Schilling - DL, out to all-star break?
Miller - drafted to stash, finally back
Harden - DL
Thomson - DL, forced to drop
Patterson - DL
Bedard - DL
Halladay - pushed back, oblique strain
Harang - missed start, flu
L. Hernandez - injured knee, fortunately seems OK

I also have Vlad and KRod on that team, so even with 3 DL spots I'll be carrying at least three inactive players on my bench even without Thomson. My only other starters are Myers and Capuano in a league that counts IP, W, CG, K, S, Hld, ERA and WHIP. Until some of these guys get back, I can only hope to take saves, holds, ERA and WHIP, as I can't even spot start too frequently with a cap on moves.

In my 18-teamer, injuries to Escobar and Thomson left me with just Peavy as a reliable starter (Backe, Haren, Santos are my others), so I traded for Hudson and Millwood (giving up Barmes, Mauer [have Inge to C] and Turnbow [also have Lidge, Ryan, Wagner, Bruney] and got back M. Young to replace Barmes at SS as well as the pitchers), and Millwood immediately gets hurt (tough break, but I still like that trade for me). Hopefully Escobar can come back on Saturday so I can switch Millwood and him in my DL spot (only have one in that league and already dropped Thomson for Santos).

In my last league, a 12-team roto with two DL spots, I have Schilling, Harden, Thomson (dropped), KRod all DL'd and Halladay and Harang missing starts. Also had to drop Matos and Crosby and had K. Greene out for a while.

I swear, next year I'm going to find a hitting-only league to play in. !+)

So the consensus is pretty much that he will not be pitching tomorrow then, huh? :-?
