The original poster seems to be in absentia recently....so how about everyone in this thread who wants in, PM me with your email address and I'll set this thing up, probably through yahoo since it's free and all.
I think 12 or 14 teams is a good number of teams. I like to keep 6 players per team for the 2006 season.
Prior to the 2006 season, we could create a Yahoo groups messageboard and conduct our offline draft sometime in the Winter. What do you think of this idea?
some1 shud take initiative and make the league, I wud but I have finals coming up.
roto type scoring, 12-14 leagues, 5 x 5 scoring
c, 1b, 2b, 3b, ss, if, of, of, of, of, util, sp, sp, sp, rp, rp, p, p, bn, bn, bn, bn, bn, bn, dl, dl, maybe some kind of farm system, 5 keepers...
Im starting a 5x5 roto keeper league and im looking for 9 owners. This league is for very serious and active owners, so if thats not you then this is not the league for you. After you visit the site, send me an email if you are truly interested. All the details are on the website.
Once the league is filled I will take a vote as to how many players should be allowed to be kept for the following season. I'm thinking either 3,4, or 5. Either way, it's not an immediate issue.
click the "Sign Up Now" or "Get Another Team" button and follow the links to "Join a Custom League". When prompted, enter the League ID# and password below.
We got 9 already so we should be good to go by draft date. I'd like to see the league max out.
I'm fine with the cats and the roster. Pretty much standard Roto with an extra DL I think. Wouldn't mind a couple more spots, e.g. IF,OF, maybe another Util or P.
As for keepers, I'd think keep 5 anyway. Either way I'm fine with what the league wants. We should probably post our druthers on the settings and come to a consensus. If anyone has any ideas (or links) on what a good number of keepers is and why, I'd like to see them.
I agree with the above. By all means, use the discussion board on the league page to post thoughts on stats and positions, so I can change them before the draft if necessary.
As for the keeper, i'd be fine with 5, though I fear it may lock up too many quality players for next year. If we maxed at 16 teams, we're looking at 80 of the top players already gone for next year...but whatever, we'll vote on a consensus.
Also, for someone with more experience with these things, you designate who to keep at the end of the season, correct? Not after the draft?
We have 10. I'd like to see a few more team get in.
You have a point about locking up 80 players. However, I assume some of that will be anticipating players who's production wil be a lot higher next year, and not just the best players.
Not sure of the details on the keeper players. I think at draft time is too soon to designate keepers, but it obviously has to be before next year's draft.
I'm going to look for info in Leftovers and maybe post the question.
