Overall roster strategy

Yahoo 7x7 league (R, HR, RBI, SB, E, Avg, OBP, W, L, SV, H, K, ERA, WHIP)...

My lineup is as follows...

C - Pierzynski
1B - Delgado
2B - Giles
SS - Renteria
3B - Chavez
OF - Ramirez
OF - Abreu
OF - Dave Roberts
Util - Sexson

SPs include Pavano, Sheets, Vazquez, Colon, Arroyo, Radke, and Oliver Perez...

RPs are Kolb, Bernero, F. Cordero, Mota, Ostuka, Villone, and Urbina...

Is it wise to have ZERO offensive players on your bench and in place of that add a SP or two? Seems to me much more utility can be gained that way. Of course if someone gets hurt on O I'll have to use a waiver scrub but I think my lineup is potent enough to withstand that in the short term. Anyway, what is the better strategy for my team. I would trade maybe one SP and one RP for one or two versatile bench guys, or maybe for Chone Figgins (2B,3B,SS,OF eligible), stick him in your lineup and move him around if guys get hurt. The only positions he doesn't cover are 1B and C. You can also move him around if guys are slumping. Pedro Feliz is another versatile guy that you can get for less than Figgins. If you get Figgins, though he's good enough that he's not wasting a bench spot--you would stick him in your lineup for Roberts, Chavez, or Renteria while there not doing so hot. (Well, he's just better than Roberts...) So I'd say find out who has Figgins and see what they want for him.

Figgins is actually the one guy I would LOVE to have (had him last year). He would be great for stolen bases along with Abreu and Roberts. How absurd is Renteria for Figgins straight up. My friend actually just traded Chipper and Thome for Texeira and Chone... so he may be less than willing to make a deal...
