Walker and Hairston PT

Postby stumpak » Thu May 26, 2005 2:43 pm

The web hamster is about to devour the other Walker thread that was just posted, so I'll start another one on this:

Now that he is back, what do people envision the PT split to be between Hairston and Walker? My instinct is that it will be one of those split time type of things, but I am really not that expert on the Cubs.

Walker will start against RH pitchers and Hairston will start against LH pitchers. That's the way I see it anyway unless one of them has a horrid slump that forces the other to play every day.

Hairston has been terrible in the field at 2B in Walker's absence. A few errors in key situations and a few other plays that weren't errors but should have been handled.

Walker is not terrible against LHP, at least not any worse than Hairston has been overall. Myself, I'd still expect Walker to start at least 2 out of 3 games. Ok, lets say I hope, since I do have him in a deep league.

i see walker getting >=75% PT. His bat is too good. Though Dusty has been known to ignore me before, to his own future peril ;-7
