Is there even an MR besides Shields worth owning at this point in a non holds league?

In a holds league I really think I should keep Otsuka to see if he can fix this. He was great last year and pretty good for the last month up until the last two outings (in fact he was great).

Timlin and his 1.19ERA & 1.10WHIP have kept some balance in my pitching staff.

Methinks one needs a lesson in math.

3 ERs over 0 IPS is Infinite ERA for that day (or indeterminate\undefined depending on which math notation you want to use).

ERA for a team over the course of the season is ER/IPs * 9. So one night's 3 ERs would up the numerator by 3 while leaving the denomitor the same for the running total and not have a great impact at this point on a fantasy team's ERA though it certainly is not going to help.

I had to read that three times to get a handle on it. Thanks for walking me through it nice and slowly. I was an english stud, never a math stud.

You have to admit an ERA of infinity sounds pretty freaking large.
