Da Meat Hook Young - any thoughts?

Postby CoopernicusX » Wed May 25, 2005 9:52 pm

He hit 3 dingers on opening day and hasn't really done much since. Anybody a Meat Hook fan? Is he worth keeping?

He was dropped in my 10 team league...if there's anyone decent on the WW it might be worth dumping him.

I'm in a 10 team AL-only league, so he has some value. But he has been freaking killing me.

Oh, well, in an AL-only league, maybe I wouldn't dump him. Wrong topic section, but who else is out there?

the only Young worth discussing is Delmon and he will certainly be one of the big stories of the 2005 season!

I was offered Vernon Wells for D. Young! I couldn't hit the "Accept Trade" button fast enough!

Seems like a great deal for you. Dimi is a bit too one dimensional. But Wells has some work to do before he where he needs to be. Hopefully it will happen on your watch.

I guess I'm in the minority. He's my CI in a 12 team league and I'm not ready to dump him yet. He is in a minor slump, but it's not all that bad. Hitting in the middle of the Detroit lineup is a great spot to be, and I, for one, am putting my faith in the veteran to put together a solid season.

If he's not hitting my mid June or so, then it's time to consider a change. Unless you're in a shallow league, which I'm not.
