Again, didn't wanna suggest anything, just offering a hand if you wanted to just have the original pic.
I think we'll go with the two photos, but if it doesn't take too long, could you tell me how you would do what you're saying? Thanks
I would extend the canvas size out to the right until the rectangle shape is formed, then I'd either try extending the background that sits just to her right out to the end bu using selecting a vertical strip and stretching it using free transform. if that looks wack, i might goto layer style, and grab a texture pattern to lay over it to give it some detail. Otherwise I would probably copy and paste together pieces of the red and black background and construct a makeshift background out to the right. Photoshop allows you to do almost anything with backgrounds, though sometimes they are too hard to fill in - like the one i have in my sig now. I could probabaly do a better job but I didnt have the time to stuff around too much with it.
This one uses the stretch method I was telling you about.
Whereas this one, everything to the right of her is a pattern overlay in the layer style option. I used the skew command to distort the shape of the layer to make it look like the water had some perspective. Looking at it now, i probably should have blurred the bakg to the right a little to make it blend with the real water on the left of her.
This one, i used the drag across method and then distorted it a little so that it wasnt a str8 line, as in the jennifer love hewitt one. I then outlined her using the path tool and inverted the selection. Then I created the scan lines.
And then this one, I just seperated her from the background entirely cuz it couldnt be salvaged (she was laying in grass with no uniformity), so then created the background pattern and did the title making it look like the text is made of diamonds. Oh, and she was actually wearing a pick dress.
If you wanna know anything about photoshop I'm your man. Its pretty easy to pick up, and when you do you will fly through. So far you're doing great blankman.
I shouldnt be giving away all my tricks here! But anyways, this site is amazing and may inspire you to learn how to use it some more. Plus it has some great tutorials.
