Not bad enough, they had plenty of chances to get him in the offseason.

I think Zito would veto that trade if he could...who the hell wants to go to Kansas or MIssouri or where it is

Nice try Mr. Clown.

There's zero chance of this happening IMO. Sweeney is due HUGE $$$ on the remaider of his contract, so that pretty much rules out Oakland, doesn't it? I do think he may finally move someplace, but the A's are about as unlikely a locale as you'll find.

Is Sweeney really going to be a huge upgrade over Dan Johnson? And the A's just can't pay that type of player, especialy with declining defensive skills.

The A's are better off rebuilding this year and making a run next year. I would love to see them trade for Adrian Gonzalez to be their 1B and make Dan Johsnon the regular DH next year. That will be the making of a nice cheap nucleus to add to Chavez, Crosby and Swisher for next year.

Sweeney is a perfect fit in Texas or Baltimore IMO. He needs to go to a contender.

with the A's basically out of contention for this year(sorry a's fans) , i dont see the A's making a deal that will not help them in the future,,, and getting sweeney would mean signing him to a long term deal, which i dont see the A's doing....
