Tyler Walker isn't a good option for the rest of 2005.

Chances are he will have some rough stretches. The Giants have a lot of guys with good stuff in the minors plus some at times effective big league arms in the bullpen. Walker probably will not enjoy much job security.

But ride the wave while you can.

walker looks solid, im a big giants fan and he looks like a second coming of tim worrell from a couple years ago, except with 5 mph more on his fastball and a nice mean streak. with no one realistic to contend with him for that job its his until he loses it (which he shows no sign of doing) or until the giants trade for someone, which they wont do if walker is effective

Walker is better than Turnbow IMO. All the Turbow lovers should grab Walker while they can!

They love ugly a$$ Turnbow but hate on Walker? I don't get it.

he is definitely on a roll BUT there is absolutely nothing in his history that would point to long term success...282 oba in 04, .319 and .308 in aaa in 03 and 02..a tendency in his career to give up the long ball..his k rate and BB/K ratio improved in 2nd half last yr but eventually his poor peripherals will get to him

There's this guy in my league that drives me NUTS. He's getting killed in saves, so I pointed this out to him and suggested we try to work out a trade for one or two of my closers. Rather than respond, he goes out and picks up Todd Jones and Walker off the ww this morning. I was pretty cheesed off, mostly at myself for telling this guy (for the second time) how he needs to improve his team. Hearing that Walker's inconsistent and now possibly splitting the role makes me feel just a little bit better.
