Yan to close in STL?

Rangers sent him to STL today. No word on whether he will close in place of Eldred until Izzy comes back. I wonder now if Izzy is not coming back in a week. Any ideas?

I think the Cardinals made this trade with "generally improving their bullpen" in mind, not aquiring a closer. That said he might get a couple chances before Izzy comes back. Yan is nothing to write home about though. I'd leave him alone unless your completely desperate.

Another angle is that even when izzy does come back he won't be able to handle a workload such as 4 or 5 save chances in a week given his repeat injury risk. This is when Esteban would step in and grab a vulture save or two.
