Since I have Benson pitching today, I have to root for Clement to get shelled. But if it's a numbers thing, the Pirates have averaged 4.06 runs/game which is almost dead last in the NL. Only the Dodgers & Padres have scored fewer runs. Here's how the probable starting lineup has done against Clement:
Lofton: 3 for 19 (3BBs, 2 Ks)
Wilson: 2 for 21 (9Ks)
Giles: 9 for 22 (9 BBs, 2 Ks, 2 HRs)
Ramirez: 7 for 28 (1 BB, 7 Ks, 1 HR)
Simon: 0 for 5 (1 BB)
Kendall: 8 for 33 (3 BBs, 3 Ks)
Sanders: 2 for 11 (2 BBs, 5 Ks, 1 HR)
Nunez: 1 for 9 (1 BB, 3 Ks)
Benson: 0 for 20 this year (doesn't matter against Clement)
It seems to me if your boy can keep Giles from getting up in a tasty situation, you statistically will be OK. But again, I hope he gets shelled.
