What's Pedro worth?

Postby PedroMart » Tue May 27, 2003 2:06 pm

I'm looking to upgrade my 2B and 3B positions. I'm in a 10 team weekly point based Sportsline league. We score based on power, average, and steals. Currently, I've got Tony Batista at 3B and Roberto Alomar at 2B. Any ideas what I could get by trading away Pedro? I was thinking an upgrade of both positions or more realistically (since it'll be hard to find one person with two decent IF) an upgrade at one of those positions and a decent replacement pitcher.

for Pedro, you should still be able to get the best at a particular position, unless it's the obvious studs like Soriano, Pujols, or A-Rod. Since your league is a points league, Battista's low avg doesn't hurt you, right? I would say keep him because he's got plenty of power to get you some good RBIs. As for second base, you might want to try getting Jeff Kent, since I imagine Soriano is out of the question.

It's not a very good time to trade Pedro right now, because his value is diminished by concerns about his injury, and his return date being pushed back on almost a daily basis. To get decent value for him, you're going to have to likely wait until he comes back and has a couple great starts, proving he is healthy.

Got that right. I was offered two weeks ago Pedro for Mulder,Miller and i declined. Frustrated and not feeling confident about his health as much i tried to reup that offer. Not gonna happen now he said. No biggie.. i can get just about anything i want for him (pitching that is) when he comes back. So i'll wait.
