Preston Wilson benched?

Postby sammyfan711 » Mon May 23, 2005 11:23 pm

He got his normal day-game after night-game rest on Sunday but to be benched on Monday as well? Preston seems to be reverting back to the the .230-hitting OF he was back with the Marlins, only without the 20-SB legs anymore.

Yep, he's very close to going on my WW.

The Rockies have 13 games at home in succession starting next Monday, I'll spot start him there and if he doesn't front up he's gone.

Getting close to WW material. Had a nice 10 game homestand recently and did not do a lot...not terrible, but not enough. Hits nothing away from Coors. I have had him bench in a coupel fo leagues...getting close to cutting him.

I am really frustrated with him, but unfortunately there is no better waiver wire option since it is a very deep league. Right now I wish I hadn't drafted him in the 15th round though. :-[

I see him getting moved anyway before the deadline. If you don't like him in Coors, I doubt you'll want him on your team somewhere else.
If you can sit him down the rest of the week, starting on May 30 they have a huge 13 game homestand coming up complete with some Reds starters to feast on. I'd give him one last shot.

EDIT: sorry New Zealand fan, I just realized you had already said this.

Preston Wilson didn't play tonight due to flu-like symptoms.
Wilson sure isn't doing much to help his trade value. He's day-to-day.

Ya, I was really counting on preston breaking out a bit this year too, and grabbed another closer too early in the draft instead of OF.
