I found one that is interested in sports, but never really got into baseball.. last year she watched the playoffs and world series with me and really began to enjoy it... over the winter she actually asked me questions like "what is it about baseball that you like more than other sports?" and "who's your favorite baseball player?" (her's is evan longoria by the way!!) I told her my fantasy baseball draft was tonight and she actually asked me if she could come hang out and watch..... I WIN!
That would not have gone well in my league, how bad did you get ragged?
well.. it actually went pretty well.. this is my draft with all my high school buddies, so it's not a super serious league.. so everyone was drinking beers and having a good time at the draft.. and she brought food for everyone.. (which generally makes anything acceptable) though everytime I made what they thought was a questionable pick, there were some funny comments such as "so which one of you is actually drafting that team?"
My wife complains that during the season instead of giving her a kiss and saying hello when I get home after work the first thing I do is go to the computer to check the latest stats.
I tell her, "Baby, if you knew what the most recent stats were you wouldn't have that problem".

my wife does try, so I'll give her a little credit. But every now and then she'll come up and say something like, "did you see Carlos Lee hit a HR today!", and I'll have to respond, "I traded him last week. Thanks for paying attention to my life".

If I had a draft scheduled, I let me wife know well ahead of time. "Honey -- Draft on the 23rd. Whether you plan something or not, that's what I'm doing."
Besides that, as many on the board know, my negotiation is simple: I get to watch the CWS game whenever its on, and you can watch whatever you want any other time. She does hate fantasy baseball though.
To her credit, she does like to go to actual CWS games with me (this week: Friday and Saturday )
yep... going to the games is fun for all.. it's a good mix of interests.. you like baseball and girls like to go out... let's go out to a baseball game!! yay!
My woman hates fantasy baseball, but she puts up with it.
The only real time it caused a problem is when she caused me to miss the 1st FIVE rounds of one of my leagues drafts this year because we didn't get back from visiting her grandpa in time... We were just a few minutes late, but since there were a lot of people (in a 20 team league) running late it got through 5 rounds. I almost killed her when I logged on and saw that my team consisted of 5 OFers, I figured I might have missed my 1st round pick but couldn't have even dreamed of the horror of having 5 OFers... women...

haha, definitely glad i did select her as my first keeper this year! ok yeah yours was much much better haha... but on a more serious and awesome note she wants me to open a new football league this year and let her draft her own team and run it as her own, has a team name already picked out as shes actually getting into football (although shes from seattle so the seahawks are the team , but she said she couldn't do baseball cuz the M's aren't that good haha)... but yeah she said this the other day that just blew me away as far as fantasy and that i know shes for real she says after i ask if my fantasy stuff is getting old yet for her "If it makes you happy that means you make me happy if you know what i mean" with a in toe!! love it!
