Well Beltrans, it looks like you really should ride it out with Vlad. The trade would really serve no use... just clog up two spots that are already full of talent. Unless you wanna try pawning him off for a pitcher (or two) before the MRI's get back...
Anyway, Helton should bounce back just fine. He's been an elite player for a very long time, and I don't see any reason for a decline now. He's not old enough for age to play a major factor, and he's not "slumping" for anyone other than him.

Yes, you should.
I still suspect Vlad is more seriously hurt than they are letting on. There are three types of shoulder separation, and as a rule none is more painful than another. However, they range from minor injuries to possibly career-changing. Until MRI's come back, nobody knows. Once they do come back, it'll be too late if it's a second or third degree.
Helton is going to get back to a top 15 player. If you can make good use of Guillen in the OF, I say go for it.
Well that's the thing, my hitting is really strong...even without Vlad.
C - V. Martínez (Cle - C) 1B - J. Morneau (Min - 1B) 2B - T. Iguchi (CWS - 2B) 3B - E. Chavez (Oak - 3B) SS - M. Tejada (Bal - SS) OF - V. Wells (Tor - OF) OF - H. Matsui (NYY - OF) OF - I. Suzuki (Sea - OF) Util - A. Huff (TB - 1B, 3B, OF)
Guillen is the real hold up here. I don't really need him, but the owner seems to want to pawn him off for almost nothing. But I just can't see myself trading for someone who's going to ride on my bench most of the time. As it is, if I get Helton, I'll have to bench Morneau.
given your circumstances, i wouldn't do the trade.
He's always slow the first month of the season. This year, it was just a little worst than usual. His overall numbers are just taking a little while to catch back up to pace.

Wow, I can't feel sorry for anyone who drafted Helton over Santana. Some of you guys carry this "no pitchers early" philosophy way too far.
He was my 1st rounder in a league with walks and hits so he is more valuable. Well, at least he still walks.
My apologies. I have a nephew named Anfernee, and I know how mad he gets when I call him Anthony. Almost as mad as I get when I think about the fact that my sister named him Anfernee.
