Even though weathers got the save tonight, look for wagner to take over the job soon.

i know wagner pitched a few days in a row, but i'm sure he'll be closing when the next opportunity comes.

I hope Wagner wins out, but it made me sad to read this from Fanball:

The News
Just a day after the demotion of former closer Danny Graves, the Reds bullpen picture became a little less confusing, but no less cloudy. That's because 14-year veteran David Weathers struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning to earn his first save of the season, and 15th of his career.

Our View
If he already wasn't on the hit list of many fantasy owners, Reds manager Dave Miley will be now after claiming the Reds won't have a primary closer and will simply look at matchups and use the entire bullpen as the situation dictates. That means Weathers along with Ryan Wagner, Matt Belisle, and Kent Mercker, to name a few, would be "possible" candidates for saves. On behalf of fantasy owners everywhere, we just lost our breakfast.

Kent Mercker was on his way to save the game tonight when he pitched the 8th and started the 9th. But after he gave up a single to Nick Johnson, they went with Weathers once again! :-t

He let the tying run to score.

When will they open their eyes and see that their guy is Wagner???

Boo!! Didn't they draft Wagner with the intention of letting him close?

I don't understand these guys. It seems that Mercker was on his way to have his shot at the save yesterday. But the went with Weathers again once he allowed a single.

Wagner pitched in the 7th.

I hope we're not the only ones seeing that Wagner is the best pitcher they have in the bullpen there. If they don't see this... why the hell did they release Graves?

Sometimes in life, it's better to not understand! :-[
