How do you think Morneau will fare throughout the rest of the year? I've heard predictions from the way 40/120/.300+ to 25/100/280. What would be the right projection of Morneau for the year?

I believe that Morneau will hit between .280 and .290 for the rest of the year with about 30 more home runs and 75 more RBI.

So that would be around 37/100/280-290

Well the batting average is .327 right now so he will hit a little about .295 for the whole year. 37 HR and 100 RBI after missing a few weeks at the beginning sounds about right and that probably means around 80 R.

I sure hope so... He's stunk since I traded for him a little over a week ago. I'm starting to sweat...

I would NOT worry about that weak week. Morneau is, after all, a rookie. This happens to rookies. They struggle at times. MOrneau is one of the best prospects in the entire league and I agree with the numbers that people have put up above. He should be even better in the years to come.

My projections would be a bit more safe than those already listed. I think for the year something like a 285 avg, 30 HR, 100 RBI seems reasonable. Very few players hit at a 40 HR pace their second year, I think projecting anyone to do that is a mistake.
