Lowell

Postby vladrules » Mon May 23, 2005 11:56 am

Just noticed that he's always batted 4th or 5th in his career while this year, bc of slump, he's hitting 6th. Also because of Delgado and MCab.

He's batted .270-280 with people on while this year it's .220-230. Could it be that if he batted 5th he'd do better bc he'd have Encarnacion behind him instead of some weak MI like AGone or Easley. Plus Lowell would be more aggressive and be the run producer that he's always been.

Encarnacion has been good this year but noticed his numbers are better in 6th slot this yr and for his career. It probably wouldn't bother him he's hit all over the lineup.

What do FLA fans or those who watch their games think? Think McKeon should put Lowell in the 5th spot. Will Lowell return to 5th spot once he's out of his slump? Just asking because he's a FA in my league and might add.

Thanks

He got dropped in the order because he wasn't hitting. Moving him back up to fifth in the hopes he gets going doesn't seem too smart. In fact, I am pretty sure he's going to start seeing the bench a little more frequently unless he shows some positive signs, and at the very least is a better bet to be dropped to the #7 hole pretty soon.

He's got 2 hits in 2 of his last 3 games...and has 4 doubles in his last 4 games.

That's got to be worth something.....right?

Mikey always goes through slumps (this one has been particularly bad) but I think (& hope) he gets it together so ole Jack can put him back in a part of the lineup where he will have protection and can see pitches not on the outer black of the plate...

Chavez has a 6 game hitting streak going on. No need to beam him.

Huff on the other hand......

Lowell hit the waiver in my league, I own Glaus and Chavez and still picked up Lowell. My thoughts were to sit on him as I assume Glaus will cool off and if I am lucky at that time Lowell will heat up. Risky I know, but my bench has plenty of space for a quality hitter as Lowell has shown the past few years. I cant imagine him not getting hot soon.

I am also hoping Chavez keeps this little hitting streak going, he looked anemic early in the year.

Good trade bait. I recently picked up Jose Vidro and used him in a package deal for a player that I had been attempting to trade for!
