This guy has been solid in his starts this season and has two starts this week. He's been great in his past 3.

Surprised there is no talk of him going into this week. He doesn't put in all that many innings (around 6), but his WHIP has been fabulous.

Any pirates fans care to share some insight?

He's on my radar screen but for shallow leagues I'd like to see a little more before I buy in.

Well, he's basically like most of the other Pirates guys...locates his pitches and tries to keep the ball down. When he started a few years ago, he had a very nice ERA, but then he went down with arm problems. After a year off, he was back in the minors, and now he's back with the team.

I think he's a pretty good pitcher. Yeah, he's probably not going to go deep into games or strike out a ton of people. He can still get tagged sometimes, so he won't be a top fantasy guy...but looking at the ERA and WHIP numbers he can put up, he could help your ratios. As with all Pirates pitchers, don't expect many wins.

I have him on one team where I have a major injury problem, so I hope he keeps it up. The whole Pirates staff has been absoluely terrific the past 2-3 weeks.

They have but they've also faced the Giants, Cubs, Brewers and Rockies over that period. The true test will be away against the Cards and Reds over the next week.
