Brown beat the A's twice and the Mets. Oh the back...oh the mound...oh the parasites...oh the defense...oh the wall got in the way of my hand...oh the bats keeping hitting my hanging curves.
I'm not disagreeing with the fact that overall, Brown is crap and NY is better of without him but...
He has shown signs of life and could be decent as a number 5 starter (do not trust his ass in the playoffs).
You also said Javy Vazquez was an absolute joke and would continue his crappy ways this year...haven't heard you talk about him in his last 7 starts though...

Why does NY keep eating up good starteers? Maybe there is just a bigger spotlight on them and so it seems like things are worse than they are.

Because their pitching coach is terrible.

Obviously, the choice of the word "you" was an overstatement. But a guy like Weaver couldn't take the mound in NY at the end without tons of boos and heckling from hometown fans. And that's a fact. And that's been the case for Kevin Brown as well. So don't act like it's just one guy in NY, either. In STL, I can't remember any hometown player -- since Templeton who gave the fans the finger in 82 (and he was soon traded for Ozzie Smith) -- who more than one or two drunk idiots have heckled. And that's why STL is viewed as one of the best baseball towns around. And that's why players tend to excel here.
