LATEST NEWS
The The Braves will call up Kyle Davies from Triple-A Richmond to start Saturday against the Red Sox.
(Updated 05/20/2005).
FANTASY ANALYSIS
Davies went 2-1 with a 4.78 ERA in eight starts for Richmond. He struck out 38 and walked 21 in 43 1/3 innings.
solid outing against the sawx yesterday. is there anyone out here giving this kid a shot? with a gimpy hampton and thompson on the DL for who knows how long, this 6-2 210 pounder could build up confidence and stick around for a bit.
i wanna ditch cabrera for someone if he blows it against the mariners.....
and this kid might be it.

I think taking a wait and see approach with Davies is advisable. He's very young, and bound to have some struggles. Did pitch a much needed gem against the BoSox the other day though.

He's a great pitcher, but still a rook. Watch him a little. The way he pitched yesterday, you almost feel like he's DTrain from '03, but he struggled at AAA this month, so just watch him. I wouldn't bank on him being much better than so-so.

I tend to agree with thehat. I try to avoid rookie pitchers as much as possible, especially mid-season callups who have been coasting against minor league competition thus far.

i just picked him up... he gets the mets at home without Carlos Beltran... and that sounds nice to me...
then he gets the nats on the road... with guillen back... which doesn't sound good to me...

Davies line against the Mets tonight:
5.1 5H 1BB 6K
That's pretty solid. I'm thinking I'll grab him now in my keeper. Anyone else think this kid is for real?
