Alou or Fullmer?

Postby GMaster7 » Mon May 26, 2003 8:15 pm

Alou just went on the waiver line. I have last waiver priority, so I don't expect to get him, but if I do - should I drop Fullmer to pick up Alou? Alou, like Fullmer, would fill in my last Utility spot.

Thanks,
G

Moises Alou would definitely be an upgrade over Fullmer.

yeah, i'm not sold on fullmer as a whole. while i don't think we'll see the moises alou who tore out of the gates after starting '01 on the DL (man, was he damn good that year), he looks like he can be a .320/20/100 guy who is either a solid third OF or a great sub/fill in/tradebait. i just acquired him to platoon with edgar in a utility slot in my 7x7 league (since hits and Ks count in this league, his paltry 18 Ks and high contact probability make him a nice player) so we'll see how he does. hopefully, with the cubs looking like a player in the NL central, their continued chances at the postseason, not to mention his sub-par 2002 caompaign will motiv8 him to realize his skillbase and be a solid .330 threat for the cubs all season long.
