I remember having trouble when we canceled our AOL too. Do you have automatic payment from a credit card? If so make sure you stop that right now because when I tried to cancel our AOL account they gave me the the run around for a while and another billing cycle started before I finally got it taken care of.
I don't know how in the world they haven't been taken to task on some of their claims about security and customer support. I had nothing but trouble with them when they were my ISP.
