I'm in my first fantasy baseball season ever with my friends. To tell you the truth, I didnt even know what an RBI was before a couple of months ago (I think the red sox yankees ALCS games sparked my interest)... well I am in a league with my friends and I would appreciate any help since I still am a huge newbie when it comes to baseball.
This is an 8 team head to head league with 13 categories:
R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG
W, L, SV, K, ER, ERA, WHIP

I am currently in 1st place by a three game margin but I tihnk its just a lot of luck. I would like to know how to improve my team whether it be through trades or pickups. However, I made a blunder by trading M. Young and Myers for Renteria and Zito... stpid trade I was told...

The positions for my league are C, 1B, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, OF, OF, OF, Util, Util, Util
SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P
and minumum 40 innings pitched per week with no waiver time.

My friends are telling me that my pitching is my weak point and I guess it shows since my ERA and WHIP numbers stink... Another problem that I have now are that Lidge's team is slumping, luckily Chavez just came back, Sheets is injured, Kolb lost his job, and Vlad and Loretta just got injured. So I am miising a couple of key starters and I would like to know what positions to improve on and what are some weak players in my lineup that I should drop for players such as B Chen (Bal SP) or Hawpe (Col OF) Thanks for any help that I recieve as I am an incredible newbie and do not know much about baseball. Please can someone help me... this past week i just sqandered my lead very badly and im in 3rd now. I could use a little bit of help, any would be appreciated. Thanks
