If he pitches well in his next start, he will get moved up within 10 days.

He's already proven his dominance over A batters. It's been nothing more than staying healthy that has haunted Hamels.

IF IF IF he can stay healthy and dominate AA like he has A throughout July, there's a strong chance he could get moved up to the big show if Ed Wade cannot make a move to bring a lefty into the rotation.

But, in all honesty, Hamels, most likely, will finish in AA this season and be a starter in 2006.

Greg Miller is on the move now after a brief stint in short season ball. In his last start on Saturday, in front of the Dodgers Farm Directors, he pitched 3 perfect innings while striking out 6. Miller will now be moved up to High A and should be a good test to see where he is so far.

Said Logan White about what he saw from Miller: "He threw his curve a lot more and every pitch had great movement. Those batters (Rookie ball batters) couldn't do anything with it, but I don't know anybody at any level that could, the way the ball was moving. He looked as good as I've ever seen him."

Cole Hamels was placed on the DL at Double-A Reading because of his back spasms.
''We just needed a roster spot and Hamels wasn't going to pitch in the next seven days,'' minor league pitching coordinator Gorman Heimueller said. Hamels has been throwing and might return next weekend.
