I'd like to acquire Helton for Thome, revolving a second player, to help get the deal done. I'm not sure how big the difference between the two is worth.
This is my team
hitting- kendall, thome, vidro, nomar, pujols, bonds, beltran, berkman, damon, lofton, and spivey

Guess you could say we've always been red white and blue

The difference is that Helton will give you an average of about .320 or higher and Thome will give you an average of around .280-.290. Thome will hit about 10 or so more homers and will drive in more runs. So if you need power go with thome and if ya need avg. go with helton. You can't go wrong either way!
I agree with the poster that said it's a matter of average vs homers. That said, I think Helton is better than Thome, because it's likely that Thome will see somewhat of a falloff in his numbers given the transitition to NL pitching and to playing in a pitcher's park. Philly gets a new park next year, so who knows what will happen then, but for this year, the Vet is a far more pitcher friendly park than the Vet, and will cut into Thome's numbers. If you can just get Helton for Thome straight up, I'd do that.
He wouldn't do it straight up, but if I could do something revolving a swap of two other players, what would still make it in my favor?

honestly, that may be true, but I'd like to keep Schill, since I need Ks.
