Carlos Zambrano (elbow) felt fine after a bullpen session today, but his start has been pushed back to Saturday.
Greg Maddux will start on Friday. ''It went very well,'' pitching coach Larry Rothschild said of Zambrano's bullpen session. ''Short of throwing 100 pitches in a game, we tested it as much as we could, and there was absolutely nothing [wrong]. He threw the ball real well and he pushed it -- so there's not much more you can do, except have him start the game. And right now it looks like everything is fine.'' We'll see.

Carlos Zambrano has been banned from batting practice.
The Cubs think his arm soreness stems from him taking too many swings, as opposed to him throwing too many pitches. This is turning into quite a saga, and the fact he threw 136 pitches in his last full outing still seems like the obvious answer to the questions surrounding his injury. However, the batting theory takes some of the heat off Dusty Baker, if people are buying it.
