Interleague play : AL pitchers going to NL parks

Postby NZF » Thu May 19, 2005 7:04 am

It's easier to pitch in the NL rather than the AL. There's already some great examples this year of that.

For this reason you may want to grab a sport starting AL pitcher who finds himself pitching in a NL park during Interleague play over the next few weeks.

No DL and also perhaps an advantage with unfamilarity.

Jarrod Washburn is one who should be available in most leagues who comes under this category. For what it's worth he goes against the Dodgers on Friday and his team mate John Lackey goes on Saturday. Another Friday starter is Kevin Brown :-o and Nomo and Blanton as well if you're feeling really lucky.

Also, if you have a NL pitcher going to an AL park it may be worth considering benching him unless he's a stud. Wolf and Backe are two that immediately come to mind for Friday.

Just remember. Don't shoot the messenger.
