John Patterson - S - Nationals


John Patterson is expected to be scratched from his start scheduled for Friday due to back spasms.
Claudio Vargas, who gave up six runs in 1 1/3 innings in his start last night, is likely to take his place against the Blue Jays. Patterson is considered day-to-day. May. 18 - 9:52 pm et

Interesting. Thanks for the news. I think he was scheduled to face Halladay in that game, so I was probably going to bench him anyway. But now he can join the rest of my staff (Schmidt, Escobar, Hampton) on the unable-to-perform list. :-/

BTW: Why do the Blue Jays still play 'rivalry' games against the Nationals?? They're not the Expos anymore!.. :-[

Hate to double your bad news, but Halladay's start has been pushed back to Saturday. Patterson would have been going against 'Cy' Lilly.

AAaargh, you're right!! :~( :~(

Lilly is guaranteed win day for any opponent. :,-( There is no greater testament to how bad the '04 Jays were than that this guy was an 'all-star'.
