I'm in the same boat. Every game Bonds misses helps the Padres, but at the same token, every game Bonds misses is a game I didn't get to the see the greatest hitter of this generation play.

As I've said numerous times before, Bonds has always been a good player pre-steroids if he did in fact take then, which right now is speculation. To wish ill-will upon someone for seemingly no reason is flat out wrong.

Do I like Bonds? No, I find his personality unlikable, and do feel he is out-of-touch with baseball fans, but I can still respect the player he was and is.

amen. and thank god im not alone in my views of barry i think that most people dont realize that they are missing out on watching the greatest hitter of the generation, and possibly one of the greatest hitters ever, with or without steroids. he's the kind of guy you will be telling your kids and grandkids about having seen him play in 50 yrs.

I take it no one noticed the contradiction in the original article? Bonds is supposedly "immobilized" and yet, he's being "discouraged from hobbling around on crutches and going to Giants games.
