who is Tim Stauffer???

I've seen a few posts about people waiting for him to be added to Yahoo, but i have no idea who he is. All i've seen so far is he's a SP for the Padres. Is he a top prospect? I'm assuming he's worthy of a pickup since people have been waiting for him to show up on Yahoo.

Ya, he is a top prospect for SD. GM is a big fan of him so he seems likely to stay at Petco for a while. If I remember right, he is not overpowering as far as speed, but has good control over all his pitches. I've read his style compared to Maddux's style, not his ability mind you, but his style.

According to BA, he projects to be a #3 or 4 starter on the Padres. His fastball tops out at 90 and he doesn't have a true out pitch. Worth keeping an eye on due to the following facts: he was pitching well down at the farm this season, strength of the team and the pitcher friendly park.

He's probably worth a pick up in NL only leagues at this point.
