I heard he got hurt. Does anyone know anything about this? He didnt play tonight. I have a trade offer out there for him and I dont want the other team to accept it if he is hurt.

Strained oblique muscle during batting practice, no idea how long that will be. I wouldnt think it would be real long but jesus with my luck who knows.

Yeah, they scratched him after he strained himself in batting practice. It doesn't sound too bad, but I'd keep an eye on the situation.

I am hoping with a few days rest he will be back in but I haven't heard.

I'm not sure if Chipper is in tonight's lineup, but I'm starting him anyway. He has had two days off and should be a little bit healthier than the last week or two. Also, it seems like he hits very well in the first game back after being held out of the lineup.... I don't know if there is a stat on that, but I'm starting him.

News: 3B Chipper Jones wasn't in the lineup for the second consecutive game Monday night, still bothered by a strained muscle in his left side. Jones doesn't want to re-aggravate the injury, as he did last weekend in Boston, especially since the Braves are scheduled to face left-handers in the first two games of this series. The switch-hitter feels more pain when he bats from the right side.

Analysis: Jones might be able to play Wednesday, when the Mets send RHP Victor Zambrano to the mound for the final game of the series. "We'll see on getaway day if he can play or not," manager Bobby Cox said. "He might be able to pinch-hit. We'll wait and see."
